Meter

Home How it works Device types Meter

Meters are able to report current and cumulative usage values. They are also able to support multiple scales in the same device.

A meter is often an extra instance in another device. For example, Aeon Labs Aeotec Z-Wave Smart Energy Power Strip (DSC11-ZWUS)
is a power strip but also contains a meter instance that lets you see how much electricity is been used by connected devices. The user interface shows a primary switch that controls all the sockets at once, 4 switches for individually controlling the 4 sockets and a meter for monitoring energy usage.

Meters also sometimes support a reset feature for resetting cumulative usage reading. Information about when the meter was last reset is located in the device detail page.
